I only wash my hair once every 2-3 MONTHS.  While my hair is resting from washing, combing, brushing, heat products, and daily styling my hair is braid up in medium size individual braids with no synthetic hair.  My hair is constantly kept under a wig cap which helps keep in moisture.  I moisturize my hair from root to tip once a week or once every two weeks only because I saturate my hair with moisture when I do moisurize it and like I said the wig cap keeps in the moisture.  I wear protective styles ontop, which mainly consists of full wigs and sometimes lace front wigs.  When I do wash my hair I try to let it mostly air dry and then once its mostly dry I will blow dry the rest.  I use no heat combs or flat irons.  I have not had a relaxer since April 2010 and do not want to get one until Oct 2011 if not later :)

  1. I am growing my natural hair out also, unlike you I did the "big chop" and my last hairstyle was a mohawk with red weave down the middle so my hair is pretty short. You are such an inspiration to me Keke...I wish you all the best.

  2. Thank you, I wish you the best as well on your hair journey. That Mohawk style sounds so cute!! :)

  3. Hi

I appreciate your honest and informative views on wigs. I have a wig blog, and would love to keep updates of your journey with hair on my blog. Are you still wearing wigs? And how dangerous are lace front. You are the first person II met who complained about Lace front wigs.

  4. Thanks for the information. I think that you should wash your face at least 3 to 4 times a day. You’ll be surprised how much better your face will look.
